Westchester Intermediate School 1050 South 5th Street Chesterton, Indiana

To get to Westchester Intermediate School:
Take IN 49 to County Rd. 1100 N. Go West to 5th Street then North on 5th Street for approximately 1/4 mile to Westchester Intermediate School. Turn in driveway and keep to your left. Lots of parking.
The Course:
Paved city streets with a mild upgrade mostly in mile 2. It’s out and back with one small loop. It’s a fast course.
The Chesterton Police Department offers excellent traffic control. Turns will be clearly marked and manned with course marshals.
Water at the half-way point of the race and finish. Sheriff Lain will start the race with a confiscated car form an apprehended drug dealer.
Theme:
A fun race/walk with an extremely serious cause—fighting drug addiction. Manda’s loved Halloween!
So please come run in costume—be zany, crazy, loony, deranged, nutty, daft, possessed, odd, screwy, wacky, and goofy. We encourage costumes and even have prizes for the best ones!
Manda’s Race proceeds support prevention and treatment of self abuse with drugs.

The Community Action Drug Coalition (CADC) of Porter County combats drug addiction with prevention, treatment and education.
To provide Porter County with evidence based treatment for addiction.
To generate evidence based drug prevention programs.
Manda Spitler administered herself a lethal dose of heroin on March 30, 2002. She was only 20 years old. This brain disease of addiction can strike anyone and destroy lives at its choosing. Your participation in this race is one way of fighting back. Thank you for joining CADC in this struggle.
